Be present as the watcher of your mind - of your thoughts and emotions as well as your reactions in various situations. Be at least as interested in your reactions as in the situation or person that causes you to react.
Just being is enough.
When you feel triggered, remember that awareness is who you are, not the reaction that is occurring or the situation that you are in. Shift the attention to being the one who is aware—and from doing to being. Float and rest in awareness. Let “doing” come from “being”, if there is any doing to be done:)
The word enlightenment conjures up the idea of some superhuman accomplishment, and the ego likes to keep it that way, but it is simply your natural state of felt oneness with Being.
Give up waiting as a state of mind. When you catch yourself slipping into waiting…snap out of it. Come into the present moment. Just be and enjoy being.
To nurture another way of being in our lives is why we are here.
Meditation is about learning to recognize our basic goodness in the immediacy of the present moment, and then nurturing this recognition until it seeps into the very core of our being.

So many people are rebloging pictures of girls with skinny bodies, tanned skin, long hair and make up and of guys with muscly bodies and tanned skin. This picture of this girl with cancer who is smiling and being happy is far more beautiful, reblog if you agree :)

You are not IN the universe, you ARE the universe, an intrinsic part of it. Ultimately you are not a person, but a focal point where the universe is becoming conscious of itself. What an amazing miracle.
This is a wonderful short meditation that can be practiced anywhere and anytime to help you move out of a doing/thinking/busy mind into a calm and focused being state:
Sit comfortably or lie down and close your eyes or keep them open but softly focused on a point in front of you. As you inhale, imagine that you are inhaling pure love. As you exhale, imagine that you are exhaling pure peace. Stay with this for one to three minutes, taking regular breaths. You might want to start with 10 deeper breaths, just to connect with your body and relax, and then ease into your natural breathing cycle for the rest of the meditation.
I have used this meditation in stressful or hectic situations, or when I’m feeling triggered by something or someone, keeping my eyes open and without anyone knowing that I’m practicing it. A softer and more compassionate mind/body state begins to take over and I feel more present and able to manage whatever unfolds.
